Charity Event - Demonstration and Talk at RDA, October 2012

"Sally approached me asking if she could assist the club in raising money for a charity. We chose Wakefield R D A who kindly let us use their facilities on a regular basis and is local to our members.

A few weeks before the first talk around 15 people booked in, it then went quiet. I thought if we got around 25 people we would be happy. The week before my phone never stopped. People were coming from far and wide – Selby, Boroughbridge. I then started to panic, as the room we had booked was not very big and at this point around 60 people had booked. Carolyn from the RDA came to the rescue and found us a larger room, which turned out to be just perfect.

The evening was a great success, with people chatting afterwards, enjoying the refreshments we had provided. Everyone left looking forward to the practical demo the following week.

Sally came along the following week with her lovely pony, Snowy. Sally explained that he had had a very traumatic life before she got him. He was unrideable, dangerous and had the threat of being shot hanging over him. His owners at the time said that Sally could give him a second chance. After a lot of hard work, Sally achieved her goal and Snowy became a lovely pony to ride and handle.

Sally gave us a wonderful demo in hand, then ridden, putting into practice all she had told us the week before. Everyone went away, hopefully looking at their horse in a different light and eager to put into practice what they had been taught.

THANK YOU SALLY AND ALL WHO ATTENDED FOR HELPING US RAISE A FANTASTIC £400.00 FOR WAKEFIELD R D A."
